Having recently returned from our world trip, just catching up on reviews of the places we stayed. The Smugglers Cove was a great decision for us on arrival in Fiji. It was our first time on the island and we opted to pay slightly more for this place than other accommodations. We had a double sea view room with air con and the room was fine, clean, spacious and comfortable. The pool area by the ocean front was lovely and the place was a great base to chill out. Conveniently located near the airport, it is a good place, but only stay a couple of nights and then head off to exlplore the rest of the island. The entertainment at night was amazing with fire dancing and traditional dance. The free kayaks were also a good perk.
I stayed at Smugglers Cove and found it a great place to stay. We got a small room with ensuite and it was fine for what we needed. All the staff were great from the guy that meet us at the airport in the shuttle bus right through to the front desk girls to the guys at the bar. It was a great place to meet people in the evening around the pool and have a few drinks and gets ideas about where we should go and what things we should see.
I would stay at Smugglers if I visit Fiji again.
The staff was incredibly friendly. The restaurant food was much better than expected, and the location while being on the unflattering main island was still amazing. Each night there was something different going on at the hotel, and the other guests were from all demographics. They contracted taxis to always be at the hotel, and it was just minutes from the airport. Again i can say enough about the staff, extremely friendly and welcoming. Cheap enough for backpackers as they have dorms, and rooms good enough for those looking for a good affordable hotel.
