Local agents from across Nadi were invited to a site inspection of the new Beach Wing which features Premium & Oceanfront Balcony rooms, 4 Bed Mixed & Girls Sanctuary dorms, Cove Spa & Cove Café. Also located onsite is Reef Safari Dive shop and Malolo Surf shack. For those who hadn’t visited Smugglers before they were given the opportunity to also visit our main building which features Oceanview Window & Oceanfront Balcony rooms as well, 34 Mixed Pirates dorm, Reception, Internet room, Laundrette, Restaurant & Bar and they also got to catch a glimpse of the sunset from our very own Sunset Balcony. In addition everyone got to visit our long established sister resort Horizon Backpackers located right next to us and were pleased to know that both Smugglers & Horizon cater for all budget backpackers. Each were separated into groups and assigned a representative from Smugglers to show them around, they were also given a sales kit which comprised of rate sheet, pictures, info sheet, contacts and other necessary details. The afternoon ended on a high note with everyone enjoying the cocktail, a token of our appreciation for their support throughout the year and everyone was able to mingle and more importantly enjoy the evening hosted by Smugglers Cove.

It was an afternoon to remember as department heads from Awesome Adventures & South Sea Cruises joined us for a pre Christmas cocktail in the Cove Café. Despite the drizzle, we were pleased with the turn out and were able to catch up with fellow industry partners who we hardly had a chance to meet up with throughout the year. The event was dedicated to them and it was sure a great night.

Smugglers Cove was privileged to be given the opportunity to host the Tourism Fiji Youth Adventure Educational Famil on the 18th of November 2011 in our Vacant lot.  Tourism Fiji along with Fiji Independent Traveler Backpacker Association (FITBA) combined resources to host 55 Australian backpacker specialist travel agents. Also included were a good number of locally specialized hoteliers and tour operators offering backpacker oriented product & services.
The half day event proved fruitful for many as they were given the chance to mingle and sell their products. With the perfect weather and fantastic organizing done by the team, Smugglers was fortunate to have the agents tour the property and get a glimpse of our Dorm & Private rooms. They also got to feast on our special beachfront BBQ while enjoying the company of fellow hoteliers.  

Smugglers Cove is excited to announce the opening of its brand new Beach Wing extension on 1st April 2011. The new Beach Wing features 18 Beachfront Balcony & Premium Rooms, 5 x 4 Bed Mixed Dormitory rooms & an 8 Bed Girls Sanctuary Dormitory. Also included in the new extension is Senikai Spa & Salon, Reef Safaris Dive Shop, Malolo Surf Shack, Sun deck areas, Beach shade bures & the Cove Cafe specializing in light gourmet lunches & snacks & fine coffees.

The owners & operaters of Smugglers Cove, Mark & Janice Hinton back in 2008 purchased the next door vacant beachfront block (opposite side to that of the New Beach Wing) & have since obtained Government approval to development a 6 floor (including ground floor) 40 apartment complex. The new development will be called Smugglers Serviced Holiday Apartments. The apartments are now selling off plan & owners have the option to enter into a management scheme whereby Smugglers Coove will manage the apartment on the owners behalf. A 5% ROI is guaranteed for the first year of operation. Construction is expected to comence mid to late 2012. Title will be Stata Freehold Unit Tittle. Owners will get 28 nights use of their apartment each year however this is negatiable at time of purchase.
